Call for Papers - No. 1/2025

DIRECTIONS, TARGETS AND INTERROGATIONS IN CONTEMPORARY THEATRE STUDIES

The present issue of Studia Dramatica aims to approach theater and performing arts from the perspective of current research directions. What are the topics that concern us today in the field of theater and performing arts or at the intersection between the performing, the visual or the cinematic arts? Are researchers nowadays more interested in theater history or in analyzing contemporary phenomena? Does their interest go more towards monographic, documentary or comparative studies? Text, performance or audience analysis? Technological evolution or a more in-depth study of classical techniques? What methods do we consider to be the most valid in research today? We invite practitioners, as well as teachers, to contribute on their main fields of interest. A generous thematic focused on the diversity and the richness of angles of approach in our field.

We therefore welcome:

-Articles and critical studies on the general theme of the issue

-Interviews with practitioners, creators in theater, film, performing and visual arts about their artistic interests

- reviews of performances, theater books and theater events of the past year.

 

Deadline for registration of final texts on the journal website: March 30, 2025

Articles, interviews and reviews can be submitted online via our website, where you'll find details of how to write. We accept articles in English and French.
